Introduction to League of Legends.

League of Legends (LOL) is a MOBA by Riot Games which was first released in October 2009 and gained immediate popularity in the gaming community. When the game was launched, DOTA2 was already popular in the MOBA gaming community, but LOL had something new to offer with its characters and gameplay. LOL was faster and easier to control as compared to DOTA2, which attracted a lot of non-MOBA playing gamers as well. Developers like Steve Feak and Steve Mescon had previously worked with Warcraft III and DOTA2. They realized the demands of the gaming community who liked the mods of warcraft and dota and decided to make it a completely professional game with added features. The first championships for LOL began in 2010 and Fnatic was the first team to bag the win in the first LOL major tournament in esports. The game is free to play and offers new options and champions to players from time to time.
